Dear Delamere Dairy
My son had suffered with ear and throat infections so often between the age of 2 and 4 that he ended up with grommets in his ears and removal of his adenoid as a preventative measure. Meanwhile, as every parent would, I was seeking all help I could find. Spoke to a nutritionist in a local health food shop and she advised me to stop all dairy, especially cows' as it is making the mucus much ticker causing a lots of blockage in the head and as it is well documented many people are intolerant or even allergic to it. She also said that after initial period of dairy free diet, we should start with reintroducing gradually dairy, and not any dairy, but specifically goats. I took the advice, but only really switched after the same advice came from the surgen who operated my son; unconnected to the nutritionist, and without me prompting or asking him, he suggested the same.
We have never looked back! My son has since been much, much better. We use goats milk every day, hot, cold on his cereal, we buy goats' butter, goats' yogurt, all the different varieties of goats cheese and the only things which aren't available on the market are packs of single portions of goats' cheese such as cheese strings or other types suitable for lunch pack ( I refer here to hard, cheddar style goats cheese) and packs of small portions of yogurt (type like frubies, 4 pack fruit varieties etc).
I tell everyone who has respiratory problems or digestion problems to stop all cow products and switch to goats, that convinced and converted I am about it!
It helps that our most favourite of cheeses - feta is part goats' part sheep.
And to round the story, my son even had a soft toy goat which he lost last year on our way from school and is still asking me will we ever find his goat : ))
