Cows’ Milk FAQs
What’s the difference between fresh and long life cows’ milk?
Fresh milk sold in the UK undergoes heat treatment known as pasteurisation to kill any harmful bacteria and improve its shelf life. Sterilised and UHT milks undergo a more severe form of heath treatment that destroys most of the bacteria and allows them to sit unopened for around six months.
Can I freeze your products?
Our UHT and sterilised milks are long life products and should not be frozen. They can both be kept, unopened, for six months, so generally don’t need to be kept for longer.
